As the world has changed, so has the understanding of faith.
Many people have varying views on their faith as well as others faith.
I have often seen where Christians divide themselves because of the differences in their beliefs. I have saw many walk away from the church to continue their faith on their own for varying reasons. But guys, it cannot be this way.
The church is not the building that you are meeting in. The church is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27).
In order to grow in your own faith, you have to do life with other people. You have to find the body of believers, the church, that you click with. It is okay to not click with a church. It doesn’t mean that the church is bad, wrong, or any thing else. It just means the Lord has somewhere else where He needs you. He has a plan for you and being a part of a church where you click with the people is a part of it (Philippians 4:13).
Calling you out- To all the Christians who stay at home because you feel that you can do life on your own- You can’t. I tell you this in the most loving way. But you just can’t. As a human being and as a child of God we are called to do life together, to build one another up in the body and in the spirit. I so encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and try out churches until you find one where you just fit in and love it. I know it is hard. It is so hard to be vulnerable, to be new, and to adjust to change. But friend, it is so worth it. The Lord even calls us to meet with His body to worship Him.
Hebrews 10:25 “not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.”
To the Christians who cannot find a church- I get it. I totally get it. It is hard to get out of your comfort zone, to engage in a brand new small group, and to just meet new people. And as Sunday school as this may sound, PRAY ABOUT IT! Guys, seriously, pray for God to show you exactly where He wants you because I guarantee you that He does not want you doing life alone.
Doing life alone does not allow you to see the miracles that happen when two or more gather in His name to pray for these miracles (Matthew 18:20).
Doing life alone does not give you a support group who is founded on the ultimate “supporter” to get you through your tough time, to encourage you in the way of the Lord, to rally around you in prayer and love.
Doing life alone gives way to more stress, depression, and anxiety because we have no one to be with or to express our feelings too who will lift us up in prayer or tell us the hard truth that we may be straying from the path the Lord has made for us.
Doing life alone doesn’t give us opportunity to pray over others, to grow in our own faith, or to make friends who are rooted in the Lord’s purpose.
Guys, in America we are so blessed to be able to openly have church, to worship God so freely, and to hear His word taught to us on a regular basis. All over the world people are killed in horrific ways for saying the name of the Lord, for whispering prayers, and for being His servant. Let this wake us up America!
I truly encourage everyone to get out of their comfort zone, to ask the Lord to guide them to a place where they will love and where they will grow, and to become engaged in the body of Christ.
Don’t be afraid. Be courageous. You will be so rewarded by the amount of growth in your faith, by the friends who may come alongside you, and by the love of Christ poured out on you by His people. It will be so worth it, I promise.
I pray that each and every reader and every Christ follower finds a church that they may call home.
When I was in middle school, my family found a church that transformed my knowledge of Christ and introduced me to what a relationship with Him is truly like. Before middle school and before my family moved, I was at a wonderful church, the church I still call home today who teaches this same teaching. When I am away, I yearn for it. A church, a body of Christ, is a family. Being apart of the body of Christ is like being hooked up to an IV of magical coffee. **If you do not like coffee, insert your favorite here. I happen to just be completely obsessed with coffee**
I hope to hear from readers. I love to hear about your personal journey through life, your successes, your struggles, or anything really. I always love to just be a listening ear for people. My ears are always open. Find someone who you are comfortable with talking too and make them an accountability partner.
Friends, find the place the Lord has called you too!
