What if we prepared our hearts the way we prepare our homes?

I love a good event to prepare my home for. I love to deep clean, burn candles and have the entire house looking & smelling fresh.  I love to decorate in theme of the event, although I haven’t excelled in this area yet. I dream about the days where we will host large parties and my home will be decorated with super fun decor, or maybe a table set with extreme thought put into it for a ladies night, or maybe a super bowl party with an entire island of Pinterest-like snack foods.

I just simply think hosting is fun. I think preparation for parties is fun.

But I had this thought- What if we prepared our hearts, lives, and communities for the Lord the way we prepare our homes for people?

We all at some point or another prepare our homes, a meal, and even our daily self to meet others needs. But do we prepare our hearts for the Lord?

What if we got so excited about worshiping God, spending time in His presence, seeking His face, and preparing for His coming the way we do about our Super Bowl parties?

Can you imagine what that would look like? Can you imagine the souls that would be saved to enter His kingdom?!

Just a thought.

Friends, shall we be encouraged to prepare our hearts through prayer, worship, and the reading of the Living Word for His coming. Let’s be excited about preparing ourselves just like we are about preparing our homes!

On that note- Go Patriots!!

Job 11:13-19
13“If only you would prepare your heart and lift up your hands to him in prayer!
14 Get rid of your sins, and leave all iniquity behind you.
15 Then your face will brighten with innocence. You will be strong and free of fear.
16 You will forget your misery; it will be like water flowing away.
17 Your life will be brighter than the noonday. Even darkness will be as bright as morning.
18 Having hope will give you courage. You will be protected and will rest in safety.
19 You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help.
