Managing the Christmas Season

Merry merry merry Christmas!!

As the Christmas season comes to an end, I reflect on it all.

I have found pure joy in celebrating Jesus’ birth by just being at peace, laughing so hard with family, and even taking a nap on Christmas Day. I mean c’mon, God rested on the 7th day of creation, so I think He loves naps as much as me. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Christmas isn’t about stressing about how to fit everyone’s schedule into your own, or how to afford presents for everyone, or even about making an entirely large dinner.

It’s about doing what YOU love to do and celebrating the birth of Jesus! If you love to make a large dinner, then that’s what’s right for you. If you cannot fit 6 houses & towns into one day without feeling overwhelmed and stressed, then don’t. Split it up into multiple days. Sometimes growing older & getting married creates more places to be and its perfectly okay to spread Christmas cheer a little longer past Christmas Day. That’s how my family does it. This year Nathan and I split it up because we have so many places to go & this method definitely made our Christmas week rock! If you can’t afford presents, SOOOO WHAAAAATTTT! Like I love to give y’all, but let’s be honest, when you’re on a budget of college jobs & have a HUGE family on every side, well it’s just not going to happen without going bankrupt, so my presence is your present. At least until I have a big girl job! And ya know what, everyone totally was cool about it! Guys, it’s so not about the giving but just being together as a family, recognizing Jesus’ birth, & enjoying our time with one another.

PEACE on Earth & goodwill to men”

Learning these things & implementing them into our Christmas season made our Christmas a huge success. It was nice & relaxing. We got around to seeing everyone & we loved our time. We did not feel rushed to jump from house to house. We relaxed and watched Christmas movies with our families. We played games. We ate plenty of food & simply had an amazing time. We are thankful, grateful, & blessed.

So friends, find what makes your Christmas season full of joy and easy going & then implement that into your lives. Allow yourself to enjoy one of the most wonderful seasons! The reason for the season is the Christ-child, not to people please friend. 😉

Happy birthday Jesus!! 💓

“But the angel said to them, “Don’t be afraid, for look, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people: Today a Savior, who is Messiah the Lord, was born for you in the city of David. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in cloth and lying in a feeding trough.””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭2:10-12‬ ‭
